Band Blocks Long Oval Sizes 53-65 (Digital Files) (Copy)

Digital Band Block Files, Long Oval

These digital band block files are made for hatters, hobbyists, and makers who want a practical way to print their own sizing and shaping blocks for hat work.

Band blocks are useful for checking size, holding shape, and working with hat bands or sweatbands around a proper oval form. A flat measurement can only tell you so much. The actual oval shape matters, especially when you are trying to build or adjust a hat that fits cleanly without pressure points.

This file set includes both Regular Oval and Long Oval versions, giving you two common fitting shapes to work from. Regular Oval works well for more standard head shapes, while Long Oval gives a longer front-to-back shape for customers who need more room in that direction.

These files are designed as practical working tools, not display pieces. They can be used for checking fit, shaping bands, working through sizing, or building out a small hat-making setup one tool at a time.

These are digital files only. No physical block will be shipped.

You will need access to a 3D printer and basic knowledge of slicing, printing, and finishing printed parts. Final strength, accuracy, and surface quality will depend on your printer, material, slicer settings, calibration, and finishing work.

PETG is the recommended starting material. It is tough, practical, and more heat resistant than many basic printing materials, which makes it a good choice for shop tools that may be handled regularly and used around steam, moisture, and felt work.

For heavier use, materials such as ASA, ABS, nylon, or polycarbonate may be suitable if your printer is properly set up for them.

Suggested starting settings:

0.2 mm to 0.28 mm layer height
4 to 6 walls
25% to 40% infill
Gyroid, cubic, or grid infill
5 or more top and bottom layers
Print with the base flat on the build plate when possible

These settings are only a starting point. Some sanding or light cleanup may be needed after printing, especially on surfaces that will contact leather, felt, or finished materials.

This file set is a good option if you are learning hat making, building your own tool setup, or want both Regular Oval and Long Oval band blocks available without buying finished physical blocks.
