The WhipperWill Hats compact conformer is designed to capture the shape and size of a customer’s head with far more accuracy than a simple measuring tape. Built with individually adjustable sliders, this tool records the natural oval, long oval, or irregular shape of the head so a hat can be shaped, fitted, or blocked to the customer’s actual head shape.
This flatter, more compact design is easier to store, handle, and ship than a traditional full-size conformer. Each slider can be adjusted independently and locked in place, allowing the captured head shape to be held securely while measurements are transferred to a formillion, hat block, or custom fitting process.
It is also an excellent option for hatters who want a more affordable conformer to send directly to customers who are unable to come in for an in-person fitting. Instead of relying on rough measurements, photos, or guesswork, the customer can use the conformer to capture their actual head shape, then send it back to the hatter for a more accurate custom fit.

Hardware Requirements:
36 × 1/4-20 carriage bolts
36 × 1/4-20 wing nuts
36 × washers, approximately 12 mm outside diameter
18 × M3 screws for assembling the printed ring layers
Optional elastic cord or band for pulling the sliders inward during fitting
Recommended slider locking hardware is 1/4-20 carriage bolts, ideally around 1-1/2 inches long, depending on your print settings and washer/wing nut thickness. For the printed body assembly, M3 screws around 16–18 mm long should work for most builds.
