Physical Vintage Style Conformer for Hat Making
This is the physical version of our Vintage Style Conformer, made for hatters who want a more detailed way to capture head shape than circumference alone.
A tape measure can tell you the size, but it cannot show the full shape of a person’s head. Two people can measure the same circumference and still need very different fits. A conformer helps capture that shape so it can be carried into the rest of the hat-making process.
This Vintage Style Conformer uses 64 narrow moving sliders, arranged more like an old conformateur-style tool. The higher slider count gives it more contact points around the head, which allows it to pick up smaller changes in shape compared to a wider-slider design.
This is a practical modern shop tool, not an antique wood and brass conformateur. It is made using 3D printed parts and assembled as a working tool for small hatters, custom hat makers, and makers building their setup one piece at a time.
Each conformer is made to order, assembled, and checked before shipping. Because this is a more involved tool with many moving parts, production is limited to 1 to 2 units per month.
Current lead time is approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
Minor layer lines, small surface marks, or slight print texture may be visible. That is normal for 3D printed shop tools and does not affect the function of the conformer. The important parts are the slider movement, overall shape capture, and usefulness as a fitting tool.
This tool is a good option if you make custom hats, reshape customer hats, or want to improve fit beyond basic circumference sizing without trying to track down an original conformateur.
